Dynamic Growth

Physical growth is one thing, but what is more important to us is the spiritual growth each person experiences by being a part of this wonderful family. We strive to maintain an open friendliness, and are eager to help you on your journey, whether you're near the destination or just setting your foot upon the path.

A Brief History

Heritage Mountain Community Church was an idea borne of a Seminary Project. In the fall of 1999, as part of his Seminary training, Mark Tucker, founding pastor of HMCC, was asked to select and research an area as a possible church plant. God led him to study the Heritage Mountain area of Port Moody. Within a month of handing in his project, Mark was surprised to find that there was interest from two or three denominations in planting a church in his selected area.

One of the groups showing interest was Eagle Ridge Bible Fellowship and the Mennonite Brethren Board of Church Extension. Numerous friends also showed interest, and the result was a joint proposal to proceed with a church plant on Heritage Mountain. Mark and Shirley Tucker were invited as church planters and they were encouraged to recruit a core group from ERBF and beyond to assist in their endeavour.

Nine families from ERBF and one from Calvary Baptist were commissioned and set apart on September 10th, 2000. This group of people commenced planning, praying, meeting together for worship, visiting other church plants and finally going on a retreat together just prior to the first service. This service took place on November 12th, 2000, and 172 people attended.

Mark Tucker left HMCC as pastor in May of 2005. Jason Krause, the associate pastor, stepped in as interim pastor until John and Debbie Reimer arrived in June, 2006 when John took on the ministry of lead pastor.
