Humble Beginnings

It's easy to get lost in the crowd on a Sunday. If you've been with the church a while, there just isn't enough time to talk to everybody. If you're new, it's even tougher because you're surrounded by strangers and unsure of who to approach. Either way, once the worship starts you sing a few hymns, get into the spirit, and then the learning begins. If there's one thing HMCC has, it's good preaching!

The problem is, a Sunday morning service only has enough time to scratch the surface on any given topic. There will be weeks when the pastor says something that hits you and you scribble some notes, but what now? Do you leave it at that, or do you learn more? The Bible is a pretty intimidating book if you're new, and even if you've been around a while you sometimes need another set of eyes to find an answer.

A home group can help you find that answer, and has the added benefit of making you part of a family.

Honest Fellowship

The home group isn't a cold basement and book learnin'. It's honest fellowship. It's a cozy living room, a coffee in one hand and a Bible in the other. It's a place where the world outside fades away and the conversation makes you wish the evening would never end. A place where people ask the questions which are on their hearts, questions they may have been hesitant to ask in a church environment. It's also a place of humour, sometimes gentle, sometimes downright hysterical. A place of understanding, where you can let your hair down and be yourself. A place of fellowship, where new friends abound, where wisdom finds itself in the strangest of places.

If you're not in a home group already, what are you waiting for? Sign up and come make yourself at home!
